ReviewGuard
Watches every review and drafts a reply for your approval
Overview
- What it does
- ReviewGuard drafts replies to customer reviews from any platform. You paste a review from Google, Yelp, Trustpilot, G2, the App Store, Amazon, or anywhere else. ReviewGuard reads it, figures out if it's positive or negative, writes a reply that matches your brand voice, and tells you where to post it. You approve and post yourself.
- Who it's for
- Small business owners who get reviews on multiple sites and want help crafting thoughtful, on-brand responses without spending hours writing them.
- What it replaces
- Manually writing every review reply from scratch, switching between platform tone guides, and worrying whether your response sounds professional.
How it works
- 1Paste a review
Copy and paste review text, upload a screenshot, or drop in a URL. ReviewGuard reads the content.
- 2ReviewGuard analyzes sentiment
The agent classifies whether the review is positive, neutral, or negative, and flags severity so complaints get extra attention.
- 3A draft reply is generated
ReviewGuard writes a reply that acknowledges the feedback, apologizes when warranted, and stays within the character limits of the platform.
- 4You review and post
ReviewGuard shows you the draft and platform-specific posting guidance. You approve, edit if needed, then copy and post it yourself on the review site.
- 5Copy and post rates are tracked
The agent logs which drafts you use so you can see what tone and style work best over time.

Simple setup
What this does for you
You paste in a customer review — good or bad — and ReviewGuard writes the reply for you, in your business's voice. Praise gets a warm thank you. Complaints get a calm, professional response that doesn't make things worse.
What you need first
- An Anthropic API key (5 min, ~$2–8/month)
- That's genuinely all. No other accounts, no code, no waiting.
Flowchart
Step by step
- 1
Add your Anthropic key (5 min)
Settings → API Keys → paste → Test → green. (If you already did this for another agent, skip — one key powers all of them.)
- 2
Open ReviewGuard and paste a review (1 min)
Go to the agent, open the Console tab, paste in any review you've received. Choose the star rating if it asks.
- 3
Read the draft (1 min)
It writes a reply within seconds. Read it as if you were the customer.
- 4
Post it yourself (1 min)
Copy the reply and paste it into Google Business, Facebook, Trustpilot, or wherever the review lives.
Your first real result
Your oldest unanswered review, answered in under two minutes.
How to get the best out of it
- →Answer bad reviews first. A calm public reply to a complaint does more for you than ten thank-yous.
- →Keep a routine — Monday morning, do the week's reviews in one sitting.
- →Edit anything that promises something specific (a refund, a callback) — only you can commit to that.
- →Don't post replies you haven't read. It's a draft, not an autopilot.
- →Don't argue in a reply, even when the review is unfair. ReviewGuard is written not to, and you shouldn't either.
If something goes wrong
| Problem | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Reply is too generic | It doesn't know the specifics of that customer's case | Add a sentence of context when you paste the review |
| Tone is off | Brand voice isn't set | Settings → brand voice |
| "Can't post automatically?" | Correct — review sites don't allow it | Copy and paste is the only legitimate way |

Daily usage
- Respond to a new Google review
Copy the review text from Google, paste it into ReviewGuard, review the draft reply, then copy and post it back on Google.
- Handle a negative Yelp review
Paste the review URL or text. ReviewGuard flags it as negative and drafts an apology-first reply. You approve, edit if you like, then post on Yelp.
- Batch-process App Store reviews
Take screenshots or copy text from multiple App Store reviews, paste each into ReviewGuard one at a time, collect the drafts, then post them in the App Store.
- Check which replies worked best
Review the copy and post rate stats in ReviewGuard to see which drafts you used most often and refine your brand voice settings.
The productivity layer — what to configure, which workflows pull maximum value, and which seam agents multiply it.
Best for
- →Monitoring reviews across your platforms and surfacing sentiment shifts weekly
- →Drafting on-brand replies to public reviews (positive and negative) for human approval
- →Detecting review theme changes early — before the star rating drops
Setup for success
- •Connect every review source you care about — a partial view produces false-positive 'sentiment drops'
- •Set escalation rules: any review under 3 stars pings a human before a public reply is drafted
- •Give ReviewGuard your reply guidelines (never argue, never promise refunds publicly) — otherwise it defaults to generic
Power moves
- 1Feed weekly negative-theme summaries into ChatDesk's KB so the top complaints are pre-empted in support conversations
- 2Route recurring product complaints into InventoryPro / ShopOps as SKU-level quality flags
- 3Ask PulseBoard to correlate rating changes with campaign or price events — root-cause, not vibes
- 4Use PostPilot to amplify the best reviews as social proof (with permission checks)
Pair with
Watch for
- Auto-replying to a 1-star review before a human sees it
Avoid: Keep the low-rating human-approval gate permanently on
- Chasing every neutral review
Avoid: Set a rating floor for replies; not every 3-star needs a response
Costs
- Anthropic (Claude): pay-as-you-go usage, billed by Anthropic to you — Hi5Agents takes no cut. Typical cost is around $5 to $30 per month depending on volume.
Honest limitations
- •ReviewGuard does not post replies for you. You must copy the draft and paste it into the review platform yourself.
- •The agent works in paste-in mode only. It does not connect directly to Google, Yelp, Trustpilot, or any other review platform to fetch or publish reviews automatically.
- •Brand voice tuning depends on you providing example replies or tone guidance. Out of the box, ReviewGuard uses a neutral, professional tone.
Safety & approvals
Negative reviews always require your approval before you post. ReviewGuard flags complaints and prompts you to review the draft carefully. You control what gets published — the agent never posts on your behalf.

Troubleshooting
Likely cause: The text is formatted in a way the agent cannot parse, or the URL points to a login-protected page.
Fix: Copy the review text directly instead of using a URL, or take a clear screenshot and upload that.
Likely cause: Platform detection failed or the character limit changed.
Fix: Manually edit the draft to fit, or tell ReviewGuard which platform you are using so it adjusts the limit.
Likely cause: ReviewGuard is using default settings and has not learned your voice yet.
Fix: Provide example replies or tone guidance in the agent settings, then test again.
Likely cause: Your API key is missing, invalid, or you have hit a usage limit on your Anthropic account.
Fix: Check your Anthropic console for billing or quota issues, then update your API key in Hi5Agents if needed.
