Social posts on autopilot

Overview

What it does
PostPilot writes, schedules, and publishes 3 to 5 social media posts every day across LinkedIn, X, Instagram, TikTok, and Threads. It learns your brand voice, adapts to each platform, and replies to comments and direct messages.
Who it's for
Small business owners who want to stay active on social media without spending hours writing and posting every day.
What it replaces
Manual post writing, scheduling tools like Buffer or Hootsuite, and hiring a social media manager for basic daily posting.

How it works

  1. 1
    Connect your social accounts

You link the social networks you want PostPilot to post to: LinkedIn, X, Instagram, TikTok, or Threads. You choose which ones.

  2. 2
Give PostPilot a topic or outline

You provide a topic, share an article link, or write a quick outline of what you want to talk about.

  3. 3
PostPilot drafts posts in your voice

It writes one post per network in your brand voice, matching each platform's style. It also creates simple visuals to match your brand.

  4. 4
    You approve the posts

Every post lands in an approval queue. You review and approve before anything goes live.

  5. 5
    PostPilot schedules and publishes

Once approved, PostPilot schedules posts for the best times or publishes immediately. It tests different times to learn when your audience engages most.

  6. 6
PostPilot replies to comments and messages

It monitors your posts and responds intelligently to direct messages and comments.

Connections used

From the canonical matrix. Each key links to its full setup guide and shows how many other agents share it.

Direct posting to Instagram and Facebook Pages.

X (Twitter) paid API tierUnlocks a mode

Direct posting to X. Copy-paste mode is free without it.

Simple setup

10 minutes for copy-paste mode. Longer if you want it to post by itself.

What this does for you

PostPilot writes your social media posts — different versions for each platform, because what works on LinkedIn doesn't work on Instagram. You can copy them yourself, or connect your accounts and let it post for you.

What you need first

  • An Anthropic API key (5 min, ~$3–12/month)
  • Optional: Meta approval to post directly to Facebook/Instagram (free, but Meta's review takes days to weeks and needs an Instagram Business account)
  • Optional: X's paid API to post directly to X (about $200/month, billed by X — most small businesses skip this and copy-paste instead, which is free and takes 10 seconds)

Step by step

  1. 1

    Anthropic key (5 min)

Settings → API Keys → paste → Test.

  2. 2

Write your first post (2 min)

PostPilot → Console. Say what you want to share: "We're open on Sundays from this month." It writes a LinkedIn version, an Instagram version, an X version — each one shaped for that audience.

  3. 3

    Choose your mode (1 min)

Copy-paste (recommended to start): copy each version, paste into the app. Free, no approvals, works immediately. Direct posting: connect your accounts under Requirements. Facebook and Instagram need Meta's business approval, which takes time. X needs their $200/month plan. Nothing is hidden here — you pay those companies directly if you want it.

  4. 4

    Use the calendar (3 min)

Plan your week: drop posts onto days. Even in copy-paste mode this stops the "what do I post today?" problem.

Your first real result

A week of posts written in fifteen minutes on a Monday, instead of panicking every morning.

How to get the best out of it

  • Batch it. Sit down once a week and produce five posts, not one a day.
  • Feed it real news from your business — a new product, a customer story, an opening hour change. Posts about nothing perform like nothing.
  • Copy-paste mode is genuinely fine. Don't pay X $200/month unless posting there is central to your business.
  • If you make videos, ClipSmith and PropertyCine can hand their finished clips straight to PostPilot.
  • Don't schedule posts you haven't read. Approve each one.

Setup guide

  1. 1
In Hi5Agents, navigate to the Agents page and activate PostPilot.
  2. 2
Go to Settings and paste your Anthropic API key in the Providers section.
  3. 3
In PostPilot settings, click Connect Account for each social network you want to use.
  4. 4
Follow the authorization flow for each network. For LinkedIn and Threads, apply for API access if you have not already.
  5. 5
Once accounts are connected, describe your brand voice in a few sentences. PostPilot will learn from this and your past posts.
  6. 6
Set your approval preference. By default, every post requires your approval before publishing.
  7. 7
Give PostPilot its first topic or article link. It will draft posts for all connected networks.

  • Approve posts

Open the PostPilot approval queue. Review the drafts. Click Approve or Edit. Approved posts go live on schedule or immediately.

Best for

  • Turning articles, launches, and links into on-brand LinkedIn posts
  • Keeping a consistent posting cadence on the founder / operator's personal account
  • Drafting hook variants A/B/C for human selection rather than one lonely draft

Setup for success

  • Connect the personal LinkedIn account you actually own; Company Pages need admin auth separately
  • Give it 10 of your best-performing past posts as voice references
  • Set a posting schedule (Mon/Wed/Fri 8am) — cadence beats one-off perfection

Power moves

  1. 1Every ContentForge article auto-drops 5 post drafts into PostPilot's queue for the following week
  2. 2Route CreatorBridge partnership announcements through PostPilot so wins get amplified consistently
  3. 3Feed MarketSense weekly signals to PostPilot as commentary hooks — you're the person with the take
  4. 4Use PulseBoard to correlate post themes with pipeline; double down on what actually moves the needle

Watch for

  • LinkedIn rate-limiting sustained high volume

Avoid: Cap at ~1 post/day per account; batch approvals, don't batch publishes

  • Every post starts sounding the same

Avoid: Rotate 3 hook styles; retire top-performers before they saturate

Costs

Hi5Agents plan: Basic plan or higher
BYOK estimate: Anthropic API costs typically run $5 to $30 per month for 3 to 5 posts per day, depending on how many networks you post to and how much editing you do. Billed by Anthropic to you — Hi5Agents takes no cut.
External costs:
  • X Basic API tier: $200 per month, paid directly to X
  • LinkedIn and Threads API access: Free, but you must apply and wait for approval
  • Instagram and TikTok: Free if you have an account

Honest limitations

  • PostPilot cannot post to LinkedIn Company Pages, or to Instagram or TikTok business accounts you do not personally admin.
  • Each social network enforces its own rate limits. If you try to post too often, the network itself will throttle you, not Hi5Agents.
  • PostPilot only handles feed posts and images. It does not schedule stories, reels, carousels, or video.
  • Analytics show what each network's API provides. Some engagement numbers (likes, shares) are delayed by hours.
  • PostPilot does not auto-follow accounts or auto-message people. It does not buy engagement or followers.

Safety & approvals

Every post requires your explicit approval before it goes live by default. You can review, edit, or reject any draft. PostPilot will never publish without your say-so unless you manually switch to auto-publish mode.

FAQs

How many posts does PostPilot create each day?

It drafts 3 to 5 posts per day across all the networks you have connected. You decide how many to approve.

Can I edit a post before it goes live?

Yes. Every post lands in the approval queue. You can edit text, swap images, or rewrite entirely before approving.

Does PostPilot write in my voice?

Yes. It learns from the brand voice description you provide and adapts over time by studying which posts get the best engagement.

What happens if a post gets a negative comment?

PostPilot replies intelligently to comments. You can review every reply in the activity log and override it if needed.

Can I use PostPilot for a company LinkedIn page?

No. PostPilot only works with LinkedIn personal profiles, not company pages.

Why does X cost $200 per month?

X requires a paid API tier to post programmatically. You pay X directly. Hi5Agents does not take any of that fee.

How long does LinkedIn API approval take?

LinkedIn's partner program approval typically takes 14 to 42 days. Threads takes 14 to 28 days. X usually approves in 1 to 2 days.

Can PostPilot post videos or reels?

No. It only posts images and text. It does not handle stories, reels, carousels, or video uploads.

Troubleshooting

PostPilot says it cannot connect to LinkedIn

Likely cause: You have not been approved for LinkedIn's API partner program yet.

Fix: Apply at developer.linkedin.com and wait for approval. This can take 14 to 42 days.

Posts are not publishing to X

Likely cause: You have not subscribed to X's Basic API tier, or your payment lapsed.

Fix: Log in to developer.x.com and confirm your Basic API subscription is active and paid.

A post was rejected by Instagram

Likely cause: Instagram's API rate limit was hit, or the image file size is too large.

Fix: Wait a few hours and try again. PostPilot will retry automatically. If the image is very large, try a smaller file.

Engagement numbers look wrong

Likely cause: Some networks delay reporting likes and shares by several hours.

Fix: Wait a few hours and refresh. PostPilot shows what each network's API reports.

PostPilot is not replying to comments

Likely cause: The comment was flagged as spam by the network, or the network's API did not deliver it to PostPilot yet.

Fix: Check the activity log. If the comment is missing, it may appear after a delay. You can reply manually in the meantime.
